At Life-Line, it is our mission to help youth overcome substance abuse, family problems, school failures, depression, criminal behavior, low self-esteem, and other compulsive/impulsive problems that prevent teens from being successful. We treat the sexually traumatized adolescent and offer specialized treatment for the sexually reactive youth. Life-Line is a family focused, long-term treatment program that creates positive change using a therapeutic community model. A positive peer culture that demands honesty, personal accountability, and service to others provides opportunity for individual growth and recovery. A foundation of honesty and personal insights is essential before youth can develop healthy relationships with family and friends, perform well in school, and make positive contributions to society. A gradual growth process through five phases of recovery provides the structure and framework to be successful. IIn a coeducational therapeutic community setting, Life-Line treats male and female clients, 13 to 17 years of age. The program structure is designed for long-term treatment helping youth who need a more intensive environment. Family counseling is critical to the recovery process and is overseen by a staff of Licensed Clinical Social Workers. For teens struggling with addiction or other destructive behaviors, entering Life-Line is like joining a large extended family. Throughout treatment, we enlist the aid of others who have succeeded in the program to serve as encouraging role models and mentors. To help facilitate long-term care while keeping treatment affordable, Life-Line utilizes a unique treatment model. At night, the teens are released to the care of host families who currently have children enrolled in Life-Line. As they progress through the program, they are also given responsibility for helping their Life-Line peers. In addition to regular classes during the day, individual and group therapy sessions are a vital part of the program at Life-Line. |
